House Martin SurveyEvery year CONE, with your help, undertakes a House Martin Survey to see when these well-travelled migrants return to our towns and how many pairs nest. House Martins, like their cousins, the Swallows, spend the winter months in Africa where there are plenty of insects on which to feed. In April or May, as the weather warms the House Martins return to Europe to nest and feed their chicks on the ever increasing numbers of insects. You can help by letting us know when you see your first House Martin and particularly if they are nesting successfully in your neighbourhood. Use the form below or e-mail the House Martin Hotline. |
