CONE Education Pack 2001

This pack aims to provide you with a collection of recording activities, identification sheets and easy to do practical work.

Children putting some of our resources
to good use in a local meadow The material is suitable for you to use with your KS1, KS2 and KS3 children. The key stages have not yet been identified on the sheets. You can simply choose what you feel is appropriate for your class and your school grounds.

The activity sheets are not habitat-specific and can be used to support work in most of the above habitats. Again, you select what is most appropriate for you.

In every activity care of the habitat should be emphasised. Minibeasts should be returned to their natural habitat carefully and children should not stand on plants and creatures.

Many of the sheets have been designed by CONE, WEB and BUZZ and used in the local schools whilst some have been based on well tried and tested ideas undertaken by:

  • Gateshead MBC
  • Minibeast Projects by Jill Jesson
  • RSPB
  • The Wildlife Trusts

Please click here or use the links on the left of the page to view the activity sheets
